![]() Bill is preceded in death by his brother John (Bubba) McMillan. Bill’s greatest passions were spending quality time with friends, family, and with The Lord. Bill loved to intertwine people, good beverages, good food, and good music. Eventually, he moved back to Houston where he was the General Manager for Hillman International Brands, Inc. Worth and assumed the President and General Manager position of the largest Coors Distributor in Texas at the time. When the business was sold, Bill moved to Ft. Bill went back into the family business and took over as General Manager for Coors Distributing in Bryan/College Station. He went on to become an on-premise operator and beer equipment wholesaler. As a young boy, he would work with his family and sweep the floor of one of the premier ice houses in Houston. From a young age, Bill was involved in businesses that revolved around hospitality. With strong encouragement from Joe Tusa, Bill continued his love of athletics becoming an assistant coach at Lee High School and then head football coach at Alief Hastings High School where he holds one of the top records for All-Time Coaching Wins from 1975 – 1978. Marine Corps Reserves where after boot camp at Parris Island, he was later recognized for meritorious achievement. He went on to receive a BS in Business from the University of Houston, where he played baseball and football and was proud to have been a part of the 1962 Tangerine Bowl team. Reagan High School where he was a co-captain of the football team and a standout baseball player. Bill was born January 24, 1942, in Houston to the late James and Alice McMillan. William (Bill) James McMillan, 77, of Houston, was called home on Friday, June 28, 2019. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be sent to KJIC Radio, John Hagee Ministries, or Houston Hospice. A private interment will follow directly after the service. Bill’s Celebration of Life memorial service will take place at eleven o’clock in the Woodlawn Chapel. A visitation is planned for ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, Jat Woodlawn Funeral Home. ![]() ![]() Bill is also survived by nephew Michael McMillan and his wife Arwen and their daughter Alexandra, nephew Matt McMillan, nephew Casey McMillan and his wife Kellie and their daughter Ella, and nephews John David McMillan, Tim McMillan, and Beau McMillan. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his soul-mate and beloved wife, Wendy, brother Mike McMillan and sister-in-law Esther, brother Tommy McMillan and sister-in-law Connie, daughter Melissa Covarrubias and son-in-law Alejandro along with their four children Artem, Alex, Valentina and Renata, son Joe McMillan and Dana Heyer. ![]() ![]() William James McMillan William (Bill) James McMillan, 77, of Houston, was called home on Friday, June 28, 2019. ![]()
